As a general practice, I would say that keeping your focus on yourself, is always best. Looking inward to make yourself a better human and a productive citizen of the world! Keep your goals in focus, your mind strong and treat your body with kindness.
However (I have been recently reminded), that we need to take a step back, and see our choices through the eyes of someone else. How do the choices that we make, affect others?
First of all, we are not talking about people who are nosing around in your business for no reason. But, real decisions that affect real people.
Are you making choices in your life that can cause repercussions onto your friend or family member? Are you choosing what is solely serving you? Or are you choosing what is better for the greater good?
In yoga, this would fall under the practice of ahimsa, or non-violence (causing no harm).
So, the next time you make a decision that you know is going to affect others, stop and think for a moment. Are you seeing it through their eyes, or just your own?
